Follow below steps to install Oracle Service Bus 11g on window machine.

Oracle Service Bus Version: 11.1.1.7

JDK Installation:

Download Oracle JDK 7 from Oracle site and install it.

Database Installation:

We recommend to install express edition of Oracle database as database is used to store MDS, SOA INFRA etc schema data and express edition cam perform that function and it is very light as compared to full database.

Download the software. Run the setup file by double click on exe file and it start extracting files. Click on next to start the installation wizard. Then accept the license. Specify destination folder and click on next.

This database by default has two users (SYS & SYSTEM), specify the password for both the users. Then review the summary and click on install.

RCU (Repository Creation Utility):

RCU is used to create required schema (MDS, SOA_INFRA, ORASDPM, ORABAM -optional) on oracle database. Download the RCU setup file.

There is no executable file for RCU. We need to run it using command prompt. Go to rcu folder and open the bin folder under rcuHome folder. See below example.

e.g. C:\Custom\Softwares\Fusion\11.1.1.7\ofm_rcu_win_11.1.1.7.0_32_disk1_1of1\rcuHome\BIN

Open the command prompt in administrator mode. Provide the rcu.bat file path and run that file.

Run Setup File

Run Setup File

This start the RCU installation wizard, which take you through step by step installation, Click on next. As we are going to create new schemas so choose “Create” radio button. Then in next screen specify database details on that we need to create these schema.

Create a new prefix for all the schema, you select existing prefix when you need to update the schema or want to create new schema along with existing schemas. Select the required schemas which you need, for SOA, BAM and OSB we only need MDS, BAM and SOA_INFRA schema so we choose that schemas only. For OSB we need only MDS and SOA_INFRA Schema.

Java –jar Weblogic_Installer_path\wls1036_genric.jar

This command extract the required files and launch the installation wizard.

Launch Installer
